Re: Willson Q-series F tuba at Dillon, $5,895

If it is anything like the Q90, Willson is probably making the bell in Switzerland. As far as I know, the Eastman factory is not set up to hot spin the one piece bells the way that Willson does.

It seems like your photo link may have gotten messed up. It is coming up with a 404 error.

Re: FS: Cerveny "Kawai" (Arion) BBb tuba

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a bag that was a combination top & side loader. It really looks like the same OEM as the bag that comes with the Bobo F. The side zipper and top have to be opened on the Yamaha bag for it to work. It seems good in concept but in reality it’s just okay. Tom’s design of a ve ...

Re: Yulan, NY (FB): Satin silver Holton 345 BBb $12,000

I have a “like-hate” relationship with modern satin silver finishes. I wonder why the engraving is offset to one side… Holton did some weird stuff, this one that Norm worked on had an engraving that wasn't right on the front. Also I would agree this is Joe's old horn based on some photos still float ...

I love all of the little extra finishes Kawai ordered on this horn.

Do you have any pictures of the gig bag?

Re: Important post for the tuba community

Their current bag is billed as a 3/4 sized bag, but it is a bit roomy for most true 3/4 horns. Maybe they could offer a couple different sized pads for the smaller ones? The sizes that come to mind would be something 186-ish, something King 2341/Eastman 632-ish, and something 6/4 Yorkophone sized ...

Re: strap/harness for a 2XJ

i've seen mention of Jacksonville State marching with 20Js with 'drum straps and carabiners', and i have seen the neotech tuba harnesses online. does anyone have advice? As someone that did this for 4 years. It is a cheap, reliable way to do exactly what you want. However, I am relatively certain ...

SOLD!

So I've said I would never sell this one, BUT I found another Rudy that I am trying to get, so it is for sale now. This horn is truly excellent and for a big horn it can be surprisingly athletic. Intonation is not a problem and only requires a small adjustments. I truly adore this model, hence why I ...

This looks like the source material for AI generated tuba imagery.

It would be a cool wall hanger, or rafter hanger, if you are into the Cracker Barrel aesthetic.

CA (CL): Replated King with Holton Bell

Nice looking tuba with a weird MTS that reminds me of some of the old Conns.

If it's solid concrete, you could use one of those glass resin capsules that you put in before the fastener.

Dillon had one a long while back that was set up 4+1 with a bad scotch-brite finish. It also looks like a 2-3 combination fifth valve too.
