Re: What isn't "Fountains" programmed more often?

I think I have played Fountains three or four times over the last 30 years. I don't think it's really that good of a work. I like Pines much more; but have only played it two or three times.

Re: Screw-On Bell to Fit Tuba in Small Car

I know someone who ordered a tuba from Miraphone with a detachable bell. So they will do it. Someone like Matt Walters or Dan Oberloh could do it; but I'll bet you don't want to pay what they would charge.

I got tired of tracking rests in Bolero and put this together: https://www.dogandtuba.com/Tuba/Bolero_Roadmap.pdf. Let me know if you use it and find any mistakes.

Re: only for those who haven't yet figured this out...

Many years ago, I was asked to sub for an outdoor concert in a large park. On the concert was the 1812 Overture. As I was setting up, a guy puts a metal trashcan right behind me and then takes a shogun out of a bag. Immediately a couple of cops show up and I hear the guy tell them the orchestra has ...

Atterberg and Editing Gripe

Performed Kurt Atterberg's Symphony No. 2 yesterday. If you haven't heard it, it's very nice: https://youtu.be/XTh233TWXTQ?si=8lyrW552O6Udwuqk . If any of you are sheet music editors, here is my gripe about this handwritten sheet music: Cues are helpful, but when there are so many with the notes ...

So, not quite enough to cover 21 weeks of rent in Hawaii?

It's not clear if you only want band and not orchestral. If you want orchestral:

I don't know... I have had a lot of turkey sandwiches since Thursday. Even with all that Tryptophan, I am so stressed. I need a safe space and a teddy bear to comfort me.

I am not a member of ITEA. I just got an email from ITEA announcing a local TubaChristmas. At the bottom of this email is a link to unsubscribe. I clicked on this link because I really don't want to receive spam from ITEA. Guess what? The page the unsubscribe link sent me to says I have to join ITEA ...

I vaguely remember seeing a piece of music that had the instruction "strike the tuba bell with your mouthpiece". I want to say it was from the 1970's.

If you add a fifth valve, it would be cool for it to have interchangeable slides for the most common fifth-valve tunings.
