Re: breathing

I've noticed in concert band music, the bass parts are just way too low. In brass band music, the Eb Bass part is normal and not trying to impress anyone with how low they can play. I like that Eb Bass can get up there above the Treble Clef staff. Funny watching people with the 20 feet tall Basses ...

Re: Gig bag for a travel tuba

I own a Gard bag for my baritone, a Soundwear Professional for my euphonium and soon as I can get to my sisters in Pittsburgh, I'll have a Gard Wheelie bag for my Eb Bass.

Re: I sell quite a few silver plated instruments.

I prefer silver. Always have. I bought and gave to my daugher a 4 valve non-compensating baritone when I found out it was lacquer and based off a Yamaha design, I was more than happy to let my 10yr old play it as her first horn.

Me? I'm a silver girl through and through.

Re: Why the X on my new Laskey 30H (EU)?

Edit!! I stand corrected on the meaning of the "X" on the new Laskey mouthpieces. It only means that those were specifically marked for display at a trade show or conference. It doesn't mean anything about the quality control or lack thereof. Laskey only releases A-stock items and anything that ...

Re: Eastman EEP321 vs. John Packer JP274

CLEFS: Less and less baritone/euphonium music is available in treble clef. I'm not sure about that. IMNSHO, there are more opportunities for Euphonium players who play Treble as compared to Bass Clef. The British Brass Band world is all TC, except for the cranky Bass Trombone player. Yes, you can ...
