Tuba lit
My knowledge of tuba literature is great until about 2000-ish. Any suggestions on where to go to get the best updated list of lit? I know some of my geek tubist gurus love that stuff!!!!

Valve jobs
I know that at one time not long ago people were concerned about where they were going to send valve sets to be redone because of problems with people retiring from Anderson. I’m considering purchasing a 28J that looks like it probably needs at the very least the valves to be replated. Where is the G ...

Re: Bentonville (AR) FB: Conn Frankentuba
I believe this was a ‘tabor’ build. I owned it before the current owner. It is a GREAT player and can put the bottom on almost any group you wish. I only sold to him because I chose to just stay on B flat for my big horns.

Re: 5th rotor for BB flat Mirafone 186?
I just received the instrument and it is fantastic. It is a 1970 model 186. It plays well with the lead pipe that has been rigged upon it. But I think I definitely would like to replace it with a Truman Mirafone lead pipe. Where would you recommend? I begin looking for a lead pipe with a receiver on ...

Re: Tubas and Helicons for Sale
I can tell you the Conn Frankenhorn is AWESOME. I owned it for a short time, but stayed with my BB flat. It is a great player and puts the bottom on a group easily. Frank Ortega was the original owner.

5th rotor for BB flat Mirafone 186?
What size rotor would you use for a 5th valve add on and does anyone have one??? I’m receiving a used 186 this week, and if it plays like I hope it will, I would like to add a 5th on it in the near future. The horn is an early 70’s late 60’s…….

Good condition horn with the original case and MP. This is typical playing 321, and has normal small dings and scratches for a horn that is 20+ years old. I really enjoy this horn, but my 188 will be my forever horn from now on. Will consider shipping in the lower 48. https://drive.google.com/drive ...

SOLD……ZO Thunderbird Pending Pick up…..
Great condition horn, wonderful intonation (at least me with a Schilke HII does). Purchased to cover some of the big works for my last year with the orchestra, retiring after the 18th of March. Comes with a Messina bag. I am willing to drive as far as Chicago or Dallas (8 hours) from KC for anyone ...

Question on instrument sales - Scams?
I have sold countless horns over the past three or four decades. I’ve purchased just as many. Although lately, I have one thing that has me kind of concerned. I put two instruments for sale on marketplace and I’m going to put them on here fairly soon. Within 24 hours on Marketplace I have a bout 10 o ...

Mouthpiece suggestions?
I have been playing on a Schilke HII for many years now. I have now been playing on a Mack Thunderbird for a couple months, and really dig the horn. I just have a feeling I need to experiment with mouthpieces a bit to see if I can dial the horn in a bit further. I know MP’s are different for e ...
