Re: Bridge City Brass Band Concert in Saskatoon!

A very good concert this past Sunday by our Bridge City Brass Band. The six pieces were very well received by our audience that filled fifty percent of the church. Our soloists were terrific and the acoustics in this venue always make it a tremendous performance space. Our next concert will be a ...

Re: Calgary, Alberta, Canada: Mirafone 186 5v CC auction

Hello,
Thank you of thinking of me! I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is 385 miles away from Calgary. I played a Meinl-Weston 2145 for one year nearly 10 years ago and returned to the BBb world very shortly after. I also need to "thin" my collection as well! :tuba:

Re: Post Your Group and Section Photos Here

Here is our Lincoln Civic Orchestra (community orchestra that's been around for about 45 years, I believe) low brass section. I played with the group for several seasons about 10 years ago, had to leave for scheduling reasons, then started back again last season. It's grown to about 90 people ...

Suggestions for a Holton "Mammoth" BBb mouthpiece

Hello from Canada, I have now owned the above mentioned 1916 Holton "Mammoth" BBb 3 valve tuba for at least three years. I need several recommendations for a mouthpiece that will not only make the bottom end roar as well as be agile enough in the upper register. I have used a Stofer-Geib and at PT50 ...

Re: 'original mouthpiece' for a 1950s Imperial tuba

Our band has two Boosey&Hawkes BBb tubas dating back to the late 1940"s. I believe that one of them has a "kosikup" mouthpiece tucked into the side pocket of the gig bag. I'll see if I can snag it and post a picture. It may be awhile as we are now on summer break until after Labor Day!

Re: I bought that weird 5-valve-inline Alex 163 CC!

Congratulations on your new purchase! The horn looks fantastic. I was interested to read about the history of your horn. I wonder if the original owner was Fred Geib?
