Both Cerveny and B&S would sell "stencil" tubas with others' names on them to get around Cold War import restrictions. We've run into Wunderlich before, in this context.

I think that's a pre-USA Wunderlich:

Could be. But, as far as I can tell, Siebenbrunn wound up in East Germany after the war. It is very close to Markneukirchen, which is fairly close to the German-Czech border, and not that far from Kraslice, where Cerveny is/was based.

ISTR that after the war, in what became East Germany, various small shops were folded into larger organizations that often were state-run. The name Wunderlich was used on some B&S stencils, and was possibly used on Cervenys too. This one doesn't look like a B&S at all.

That green stuff near the thumb ring is a little off-putting to me. Still a cool looking horn though.

Looks like someone had a leather wrap around it.

Wunderlich tubas were made in Markneukirchen, in their own workshop, and the models made pre WW2 were often fantastic instruments.
Although hardly known in comparison to Bohland&Fuchs or Cerveny, Wunderlich, when set up well, are some of the best out there.

This one on the other hand, is ready to retire...
