Hello! My name's Dan, I'm a euphonium player and teacher based in the UK, used to play for Black Dyke and now playing for the Flowers Band. I've just released an instructional video regarding mouthpiece pressure which you'll hopefully find useful! It's a bit of a counter to the large amount of "anti-pressure" stuff I see out there, particularly from a certain gadget which I'm seeing increasingly these days...! Lack of pressure can be as damaging as too much pressure, in different ways of course. I seldom ask students to play with less pressure, but I often ask them to play with more, especially when traveling from high to low as there's a common tendency to let things "collapse" as you return to an easier register.
I'm also obliged to plug the online lessons on my website (euph.org) at this point, but if this violates a rule that I've missed then I'll gladly edit it out.
Good to meet you all, and enjoy!
