ISO a tuba haha

Post by dylanreese12 »

Hey folks,

I’ve been out of the game for ten years. I graduated with a tuba degree in church music. I work in church, so I don’t get to play much, but we’ve got a concert in a few months where I’m expected to solo. So yeah..

I’m looking to buy something cheap, like no more than $1,500, but preferably less. I don’t have enough time to save for something nice. I played 1291 Bb and M-W F, but I’ve always wanted an Eb 3+1. I played a Yamaha one year at TMEA and about died.

So I’d prefer an Eb, but I’ll take anything with enough valves to play all the notes in tune, so nothing 3V.

I’ve been on all the sites for a couple weeks and feel like I’m drowning. Anyone have any guidance?

I’ve wanted to play again for years but finances haven’t allowed it, and I haven’t had much of an opportunity to play.

Thanks for any help!

Find someone with a Jinbao 3+1 that's a straight-up copy of a Besson and not some gimmicky version.

You should be able to get a good used one for that amount of money.

Some of the really early ones feature curious valves, so look at the valves and judge whether they were made recently enough to where they are acceptable.

There was a very cheap one of what bloke just mentioned floating around Louisiana for a while. I want to say it was like $800.
