Re: Livermore, CA: York Eb $950
I think these little 15” bell Ebs play pretty well, certainly better than the Monsters, but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near that much. This one is high pitch.
Here is mine that is a mash up of high pitch bugle, low pitch bell and King valves and tubing.

Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

I think the one in the ad also has the York high pitch/low pitch option loop. Which immediately makes me think of @humBell’s.

I like the repurposed S arm!York-aholic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 4:32 pm I think these little 15” bell Ebs play pretty well, certainly better than the Monsters, but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near that much. This one is high pitch.

Ah, good eye @arpthark , but not good enough
I scribed an old s-arm onto a piece of brass and also made a smaller s-arm to go out to the thumb ‘cylinder’.
Oh, and I put two smaller, more svelte miniball ends on for the linkage since that picture was taken.

Yes. Too bad it doesn’t have a water key that you could depress when closing it to equalize the pressure.
I’d probably install one on the top crook, to make it extra puzzling to people not in the know.
