SOLD: King 2341 (old style) w/ rec. bell, $1,750
Very reluctantly, I am offering this for sale in order to make room for another tuba.
I used this tuba the last few years on outdoor gigs and not much else. It plays very well with very fine intonation. I had no intention of selling until today. There is enough overlap that I can probably get away with playing my Conn 36k.
It’s a four-valve King from approximately 1984 with orange lacquer (about 50-75% remaining) and updated slide layout. All slides move, valve plating is 100%. Has 21.5" detachable recording bell. No significant dents. Evidence of past repair and I believe it has a replacement/raw brass lead pipe. Comes with hard cases for bell and body.
I can ship both cases separately or you can pick up in CT. Also open to driving to meet around New England or the greater NYC metro area.
Asking $1,750. PM me or email beanhillbrass at iCloud dot com.
Thanks! Pics incoming.

Re: FS: King 2341 (old style) w/ rec. bell, $1,750
probably a good move.
You've priced it to sell quickly.
Americans eschew "top-action", and/but the old Besson RECORDING 3-valve (compensating) top-action tubas offer as-good-as-King intonation, (potentially) make more racket, and (re: USA) people don't pay much for 'em, so you could (were you eventually so inclined) replace this King with one of those.
As that particular King is late enough to feature the two-piece lead-soldered bell, it's one that (were a potential buyer also one of those midguided recording-averse types - as well as top-action averse
) a reasonably-skilled repairman could convert to upright (via cutting up a hopelessly-ruined 186 bell to supply the straight portion).

There are enough interested parties with people third, fourth, and fifth in line that I think I can accurately say that this tuba is on hold.
