steampunk legs for a drafting (ie. stand-up) work table for Wade...

Post by bloke »

One of these on each of the four corners would offer a terrific "industrial" look...yet classy - also reminiscent of pub decor (you know: solid brass), and - being over 52" tall - they would offer several choices of attaching points at adequate heights for a pivoting top. There are already a bunch of holes in these, so simply drilling holes across from these holes - and some nice big fender washers - should be a reliable way to secure these to other frame hardware.

It might take some time (the Jinbao Selmer knockoffs are a good bit shorter, so nix to those) to round up four of these, but this one could get you started on your odyssey of four matching ones. Also, it's suspected that Conn and Buescher were actually the same instruments (other than the bell brace styling and a few other details), so that doubles the chance of rounding up four in a reasonable amount of time.

...Though Conn and Buescher are near matches, I believe I would avoid these two Conn table legs, as gold plating - pretty much, at least in my view - totally detracts from the steampunk and pub thematics.

If you're not interested in a drafting table, alternately you could round up ten or fifteen of these (twenty to thirty total) to secure down each side of your driveway (as accent lighting), mount LED's in the bell portions, and - removing the "neck" parts, mount solar panels (as we all need to be green) into the neck receivers.
Can you imagine the potential jealousy harbored within your fellow yazoozians?
oh, and hey: We willistonians now have a dollar store, too, so there ! :smilie7:

Don Harry used to have clarinets lining his walkway. He had a thing about clarinet players* for years.

I knew someone who had "C melody" saxophones lining both sides of their driveway...and not too far apart.
