FS: Conn 10J 3v BBb, $500

Post by arpthark »

This is a Conn 10J that is cosmetically challenged but mechanically in good shape. All slides move, valve plating is 100%. Newer felts and corks. Dents and dings as shown. I will work on getting those 2nd valve knuckle dents out and run some dent balls through the lead pipe as well.

I view this as a 3/4 sized tuba that punches a bit above its weight class with the larger 18" bell. Would be great for Dixieland or similar.

Asking $500 plus shipping or pick up in/around CT. I have a shipping box that fits. Buyer assumes all risk of shipping.

PM me or email beanhillbrass at gmail. Thanks!

These play very well!

The generous 18" bell, outer bows size and .695" bore thru valves/slides make me think of the 10j tubas as "7/8" size tubas, but that's me...

Great price

I got the valve knuckle dents out and deem the small indent in the mouthpipe "good enough for $500." Plays great, really fun little horn.

I’ve often wondered how one of these would play with front action King valves. I have one spare set. Hmmm…

If only shipping across the country weren’t so much these days.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

That’s a good looking lyre screw on that tuba… and these are nice little tubas. Well worth the price.
