  • Bell: 14"/355mm
    Height: 31"/787mm
    Weight: 15lb/6.8kg
Bore: .650"/16.5mm (internal dia. male 2nd valve slide)
    Modern US shank receiver
This is a player, not some antique ornament, and puts out a good bit of sound for such a small instrument, with good response and pitch. I'd describe the sound as "Sweet & compact, but can pack a punch". Great for solo rep as well as a more appropriate sound for lighter ensemble rep (you decide what...).
Being much smaller & lighter than a full size Eb, this may suit younger or older players.
It had a valve job 10 years ago and has had light use since then.
Condition is very solid: pics should show numerous dings and dents around the tuba.
I don't know the story with the leadpipe but pics show an insert after the receiver. If a new owner wanted to install a new leadpipe I'd imagine the tuba would only play better.
If you think it bears a strong resemblance to the Wessex 'Bombino' there's a good reason for that. They added an inch to the bell...
I don't think it has ever been overhauled though there is evidence of work to the bell flare.
Plays up to 440hz warmed up. I tend flatter than most however. The "L.P." mark on the bell shows it was built in low pitch. I'd also recommend a "small-by-modern-standards" mouthpiece in general.
Tuba only - I don't have a case.
I don't know what DCA 665 means on the bell - possibly a military mark?
As I said, I'm happy to ship anywhere worldwide at buyers expense.
Happy to arrange video call or similar with serious buyers.
Thanks for looking,
MP
