Hello all, title describes exactly as says lol. I have a mirafone in my posession that I can't identify for the life of me. All that i know is that it's a mirafone, it's probably a student model, and it was probably made sometime in the late 60's???? The serial numbers read "Mirafone Standard 3586". Any and all information about this horn is greatly appreciated!!

not Caesar...seize her!
Scroll down past the brochure and past several more posts towards the bottom of the first page of this thread. There's a picture of the four valve version which was called a 1271. The three valve version was called 1270:

I was able to identify it in that picture because of "STANDARD" engraved on the bell.

Take this with a grain of salt (probably more) since it's been almost 20 years, but I've found Miraphone to be pretty responsive to these kinds of questions in the past.
I bought my 181 from the original owner a year after they bought it. This was around the time they introduced the Firebird IIRC. The owner sold it as having a Firebird's bell and the serial started with F281- (F281 being the Firebird's model number).
That December at Midwest Clinic, I spent some time at Miraphone's booth chatting with the folks there about the horn. I was able to learn some info there (the part about the Firebird bell likely not being true, for example) and they gave me their card and asked me to email them with the serial and they'd find out.
They got back to me relatively quickly (it was around the holidays and they had to get back to Germany first) and it turns out that it was a stock 181 with the model number just being a misprint.

I guess I should ask Mark to delete all my posts about this.

Yeah, I know you were. Don’t you remember that game show from 70’s called “Name that tune” where people would make bids for how few notes it would take them to guess the name of a song? They’d give hints and sometimes someone
knew they knew it and would bid “one note.” A live band would then play the song…

I do remember...
I believe I've seen recent revivals as well.
