WTB: Martin Mammoth Sousaphone

[EDIT] Now that I've sold my 4v Martin mammoth sousa, I'm looking for a 3v example to replace it. Preferably one from the late 30s (lighthouse/spotlight engraving) and ideally with the original neck and bits (or failing that, Wilk replicas) I'm only interested in another Martin Mammoth, not any other make/model. Thanks!

That is one seriously gorgeous Martin. I bet it plays wonderfully! I'm bummed that I don't live closer, nor have a 3v to trade...

' smart...
A 4th valve is the single-heaviest option to add to any tuba.

btw, you won't find any 3-valve tuba-family in Texas (being that they "have gone just about as fur as they can go" [O. Hammerstein II]) but you just might find one in one of the other (less sophisticated) 49 states.

Pretty sure it was Kansas City* that went about as fur as it can go, not Texas... Though of course, that was the original context, and i suppose clearly has less to do with the current context than i was inferring...
-humBell (just a tuba player who can"t say no)

*-Not sure they specified which Kansas City, though.

Some have said that they got some crazy little women there, but do they actually know what women are...??

Update: the four valve sousa has sold, and as such I'm looking for a 3 valve replacement

Call Lee! He has one he uses for all of our parade gigs. He may be willing to part with it.

We had a nice chat last Thursday about that sousa as a matter of fact. I think we may have a deal in the works.
