If you’re considering the noncomp, yep321 style, it’s worth the time to try the Packer 174. Couple with a 51D, this horn easily keeps pace with the 321, but at half the cost (approx).

I've seen guys adapt the Kelly SHU bass drum mic holder with bungee cords to work for a shock mount in the center.

If you're looking for an 8D type horn (large, Kruspe, nickel, etc.) one to keep in mind is a King Eroica double. I said the same thing to my wife last night when I heard the appraiser say Markneukirchen. Too many pistons for a German factory, and 1880 is way too early. Having said that........what a great picture that would be to have hanging in an office!!

Conn Selmer did away with the Selmer brand and re-marketed the slide grease under the Bach name, still 2942B part number. Still red, still tacky.
