I did the same last night. The wife even said okay. Thanks for the replies. Even now, the MTS almost touches the chair, so yes, lengthening it would mean it goes even farther out. I have some 0.656 tubing and crooks here, maybe I could fashion some sort of loop for it at some point. It's just such a nice looking horn, I really don't want to start ...

All the bows make me think it was someone going for a CC tuba more than an Eb.

You've probably seen this, but the 2nd valve slide is available here for the low price of only $75!

The valves look like Reynolds to me, but it looks fairly well put together. Looks about the same size as the King medium Eb I converted to front-action valves.

To me, the bell profile looks nearly identical. I imagine the bows would be different, since the 103 had the long leadpipe that enters the ...
