Re: Most popular types of music in the USA over the decades - video

I'm not sure I'd describe polka as being "big" in Texas. There are areas with large populations of German or Czech heritage. In those areas, polka is doing OK(especially with the Czechs). If I'm wrong, and if polka is big in Texas, then most states must not have much at all. All of this is, of ...

Re: Army workshop appreciation thread

Re: The most commonly used tuba in the US today?

Around the high schools I serve, mostly YBB-641 is the most common. A few 186s. Not much else.

Re: tubas in outer space

I lack the knowledge to address playing tubas in space, but I know this:

After hearing this band perform this tune, I ruled out space travel for myself.

Re: alphorn

For those interested in listening to alphorn music, here's a link that features Lisa Stoll, an accomplished player. A bonus on this clip is hearing the Swiss group, Oesch's die Dritten, a family group, with some serious yodeling. Personally, I could watch the video with the sound off, and still ...

The bowling alley has a couple of things going for it: 1)It's close to the action & 2)Something that's kinda like food.

Nah, the GREEN Kellyberg is for TubaChristmas!
I've used a white Kellyberg and decorated it whit glittered fingernail polish.
Well, that's really special!

Re: FS: B&S Musica BBb Tuba

The tuba looks great, and affordable for someone looking for an excellent "entry level" instrument. Since I don't own a BBb tuba, I'm tempted to buy it, but I must admit I don't NEED it. I'm fighting off TAS(I believe that's what I remember it being called.

Re: I miss T.U.B.A

I received my journals and regularly wore them out. There was something special about T.U.B.A. and the journals (or so it seemed). Maybe it's just me, but there was a much more brotherhood/familial/close-knit feel. Agreed! I realize it didn't mention the word "euphonium," but I don't believe it was ...
