Re: Ann Arbor: Newer Style King 2341
You have to wonder with that far so below market price if this one had poor slide alignment or valve issues which some of these suffer from. I didn’t see any in depth description of the horn. You’d assume a Music Store wouldn’t sell at such a low price to current market value just to turn it ...

Re: Bay area student tuba?
Anyone in the greater bay area have relatively cheap student BBb tuba they would be willing to part with?
It would end up as a home practice horn for a student (San Jose area, if you know the way... (that joke has not yet gotten old)) whose school apparently upgraded to a tuba that doesn't fit in ...

man this makes me miss tinkering with junk horns, the prices of everything has gone up so much its not really easy to justify buying more tubas.

Re: WTB: Kanstul Convertible 201 or 202
Location: Oregon
Budget: ~$2,000
I am looking for either a 3/4 or 4/4 Kanstul convertible marching tuba. I am a hobby player who currently has a Jupiter Quantum MK1 prototype (the ones Phantom Regiment used in 2009 with the removable bell) and it's just a bit too much horn for me. I played on one ...

Re: FS: King 1141 4-valve BBb marching tuba $1,000
i understand the valve section and branches would need to be reconfigured but what im wondering is how much of this horn is king 2341 and how much is one off parts.tadawson wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 8:56 pm Anything is possible, but considering that the first valve is on the bottom, it certainly would not be trivial.

4. You want a large receiver? Put the Yamaha marching euph on it and use a bigger mp (lots of LA pros do that) - very cheap upgrade

i have seen his son post tubas on offerup in the paramount and Moreno valley area. Last i knew frank moved on to setting up a recording studio in his house (this was roughly 10 years ago). there seems to be quite a few resellers that have popped up in recent years to fill the void and drive up ...

Re: conn 20j leadpipe availabilty
The generic Wisconsin tube that comes the closest only makes it up to a 19mm bore.
It would be nice if they were to make a similar one that makes it up to a 19.5mm bore (ie. the approximate 20J bore size).
(ok...They do make one, but it's way too long to use on a 20J.)
Would you happen to have ...

conn 20j leadpipe availabilty
replacement 20j leadpipes are still backordered at allied. is there another source for these? would something like ybb201-321 leadpipe be a close enough replacement? I see votaw tool offers a pitch filled leadpipe. has anybody used one if these with any success?

I need to get back to it, but mine is more in the form of a complete bass trombone bell section, a bass trombone playing that isn't even the same make yet I'm did things to make it bolt to the bell section, and an alternative to the playing slide which is a four piston and two rotor rig which is ...
