I’ve had success find leaks by plugging the bell with a round plastic bottle or jug with foam tape around it, and compressed air into the mouthpipe, regulated down to just a few psi, and spraying soapy water, watching for bubbles like checking for gas leaks.

I can’t speak for Bloke, but I’ve used Threaded Ball Link, Heavy Duty, 259. I put them on my old Mirafone 186 over 15 years ago and they’re about thing that hasn’t needed anything but an occasional drop of lube.

Sometimes you can get screws to come out with a left hand drill bit. Usually works best with slower speed and harder feed so it has a chance to bite into the screw and apply enough torque to back it out. Thanks Bloke. I was pretty sure about the slide since I got to play a new 25 in high school, ‘68 - ‘70. This horn just seems bigger, but as a septuagenarian I must be shrinking faster than I realize.
