Olds? Sousaphone neck & bits

I believe this to be a set of an Olds sousaphone neck and bits. I acquired them long ago with a lot of other parts and am just clearing stuff out. The bits are stuck and I didn't want to try to get them apart. Looking for $100 OBO for them.

That was one of my first thoughts, but I'm not sure I'll like the result. I will probably give it a try anyway.

Finger buttons on Eastman EBB 226

I recently purchased an Eastman 226 BBb because I wanted a lighter weight horn to take to rehearsals. I really like the way it plays, but the finger buttons have very smooth plastic inserts that are slightly convex, so I find my fingers are slipping off a little, especially the 4th valve. Does ...

Re: *SOLD* FS/FT: 4V Martin Mammoth Sousaphone

The Washington Band of Annville, PA has two 3 valve Martin Mammoth sousaphones that they would be willing to sell. They are in pretty good shape with original neck and bits and each has a hard case. I can try to get you come photos if you're interested. You would have to pay for shipping, but I ...

Don't know if you're still looking, but Wessex is having a valentine's day sale (2/14/25) and have the Tubby now in gold lacquer for around $4,800.

Re: JP179B review

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to find one to try locally, but as I suspected, that's not likely.

Re: JP179B review

Thanks for the review. I've been thinking of getting a smaller BBb as I get older and this and the 279 were two of the horns I was considering. Just out of curiosity, I see your info shows that you are in Harrisburg. I'm in Central PA too. Where were you able to find one locally?

To Pakins51:
I apparently can't respond to your message directly because I recently joined this site. Others have been able to play this in Eb, but I didn't find that I was able to adjust the slides in the Eb configuration to get a scale in tune enough for me to use it that way. It could be me and ...
