Re: The QUEST for a Great Cerveny CCB601-4 CC tuba

Bell looks awesome!

Just call a spade a spade: you're doing some great dent removal. Facilitation, not so much.

Re: frank-cilitator services

A facilitator would help manage the whole project, specifically advise... and that's the #1 thing you list that you would not do.

Re: Shipping from Germany to USA

+1 to Doc , which says nothing about Germany, nor will this anecdote I'll add: Ordered an instrument from Virtuosity in Boston. They have been great to deal with. Somebody had a sniffle at the post office here so we were advised to expect delays so I told them "you know what, can you hold it til ...

Re: Shipping from Germany to USA

Three random thoughts. Thomann says they are shipping. They use UPS to Canada. Not sure about USA. DHL is, IIRC, government owned through the German post office. All the shippers in this space (Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc.) have been able to raise prices in virus times. Government postal services worldwide ...

Mathematically, (bad day playing) > (good day quarantined with no playing).
Well done.

Is that wrong?
Most definitely not, although I wonder about what sacrifices are made in tone/intonation/etc. to achieve a limited form of portability.

Re: Lovin' Me Some Helicon!!!! Post yours here.

Note to self: Contribute here on Sunday. Some bad joke about a helio con? Which the folk of Galileo's time were too smart to fall for... Wait, why need i justify my own internal deadline? I guess i think i'm funny or something. I suppose i could pick something worse than myself to be full of ...

Re: Lovin' Me Some Helicon!!!! Post yours here.

In the end, is a helicon supposed to sound like its own thing, or is it supposed to replicate another instrument whilst on horseback (kinda like how a mellophone lets horn players march...)?

Re: Canadian Concert and Brass Band Restarts?

Chester (Nova Scotia) Brass has a benefit concert scheduled for Sep 27 at a church. Let's see if it comes off. There is no rhyme nor reason here as to which events the government approves and which it does not. Very confusing. The major junior hockey team can have fans, but the regional (pro) theatre ...

Re: Contract!

Excellent news.
Would the contract be a useful model for other orchestras in other regions or was a lot of it super-specific?
