Re: Name a BBb that:

I would throw my Eastman 562 in for consideration. Not that I am selling it - but just to consider. Mine plays very well. It is 37.5 in tall but worth it to check out.

Re: Setting a tuba or euph on its bell…

I used to set my tubas on the bell but these were older already been rolled bells. I did it with my euphoniums also.

Until I got a brand new tuba and am really trying not to set it on the bell. I have the Hercules stand and the K & M stand.

Re: Musical Instrument Museum...MIM...Special Exhibitions......

My wife got me tickets to it years ago. I went once. It has lots of instruments. But it did not have any context or evolution of the instruments. They were all based by geography. I guess I expected more of the history of music than just lots of instruments. Looking at the website - some things have...

Re: Preferred mouthpiece?

I play on a Dillon Turner G5B (a Geib style mouthpiece) on my Eastman 562. I have also used it on a Cerveny 601 and Mirafone 186. My other mouthpiece is a Helleberg 120. The rims work for me. The PT 88+ worked but required a lot of air and sold it.

Re: New Tuba Day - Eastman EBB-562

Hi Big Ben. Thanks for the reply. I have owned two Mirafone 186 tubas - one bell up and one bell forward. They were older models and played well. The Eastman plays similar. I don't feel the smaller bore as a hindrance. The Eastman is easy to play. It is bigger than the 186. I think it is almost a 5/...

Re: New Tuba Day - Eastman EBB-562

Been playing it for a couple of months. Still enjoy the tuba. With the mouthpiece it really resonates. Makes playing easier but also shows me I need to play better and practice more. Very happy with the tuba. Dillon music gave me a great price and shipped it well. I am using their Geib 5 mouthpiece ...

Titan concert music stand review

My son and I were in Bookman's store in Mesa, AZ yesterday. In their music section I saw this music stand. I purchased it and brought it home. Later in the afternoon I used it and was impressed. Nice height adjustment along with angle adjustment for the music. It held my music and a couple of 2"...

Re: Converting clockspring rotory paddles to regular spring paddles

I have put the tuba on consignment at Mike Nye's instrument repair since I had purchased the Eastman 562. I thought about keeping it but do not play enough and I hope someone else will enjoy it. I certainly did.

Re: my 5 valve 2280 rebirth project

Thanks! These kings aren't real popular, even as school instruments and I just don't understand that. Schools will buy 100 Yamaha 321's before they will ever consider the king, and I think these are better instruments Undecided if I'm going to sell anything. I sold my piggy and I regret it to this ...

New Tuba Day - Eastman EBB-562

Hello all. Last Wednesday I received my new (demo) Eastman EBB-562 BBb four rotor tuba. I got a good deal from Dillon Music on it as it was a Demo horn. This is the first brand new tuba I have owned. It came packed in a very big box. Well protected. I opened the box and it came with a hard shell cas...

In the community bands I have played in - Sleigh Ride for Christmas. I feel it is over done as every Christmas concert . Yes, but I'm asking which really big works - that take 20 minutes or twice that long to play - do NOT become tiring - regardless of how often they are programmed. Specifically to...

I only have one tuba. I barely have time to practice it as my job takes a lot of my time.It was easier when I was in school to play trombone, euphonium, and tuba.

I agree when I played Easter weekend. Friday night,Saturday night, then four Easter services starting at sunrise. Just a quick update. The paddles are not sticking as much the more I play.

Still will be looking out for the parts to eventually do this. Thanks for all of the input.

Re: NJ FB: Cerveny BBb

Loving the horn, but noticing trouble filling it in the low pedal range. I feel as though my helleberg is not keeping up with the bore. Any suggestions on a mouthpiece for this big Kaiser. Cerveny 693 I use a Dillon 5GB Geib mouthpiece on my Cerveny 601. Dillon Music still makes them. Sent from my ...
