Re: ISO: Gig bags for Kurath F and Willson 3060

Yeah, I am putting myself in a corner for sure. My issue with Cronkhite is how they treat their clients. I used them once and hated them. I ended up cancelling my order and going elsewhere. Stencl has gotten even more expensive than Cronkhite believe it or not (I was really disappointed when he ...

You could also look at a Stencel Bag, which are really fantastic bags and made as a custom fit to order. We have ordered some that are about to ship, and plan on doing a full review of it once we receive them.

Re: Venting Piston Valves

Todd,

Nothing wrong with doing it. Make sure the valve slides are all in parallel and plane as well while you're doing this, so you're getting the benefits of the ability to slide pull. I've vented valves on all of my piston tubas and have never had any issue with them!

I have bought a lot of brushes from here, and they work really well for what I do with them. I am all for supporting people in the music industry, but I also try to be smart and source things where I don't feel prices are outrageous for what I am getting.

Cerveny 601 CC Tuba

I have a customer looking for a Cerveny 601 CC tuba. Number of valves isn't super important, neither is condition. If you are interested in selling yours, please reach out to me. Thanks very much!

5 Piston valve F - Mars

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Still trying to keep these model names straight myself.

Speaking of which,
(Rick Denney’s “…not sure how well the dealers did overall…”),
I’ve always wanted to ask this question since I went to my first conference many years ago:

Do the instrument companies/dealers REALLY sell enough stock to make it worth their time and effort and everything else ...

Re: Rose City Instruments - Sierman Retailer

FWIW Linda Ronstadt hired Nelson Riddle to produce a series of American Songbook pieces for her trio of albums in the mid eighties. Skylark is one of my favorites on that effort. She does it very well.

I assume from the discussion that the store is in Vancouver despite the Rose City name, which I ...

Re: Rose City Instruments - Sierman Retailer

Hi all,

Thanks so much for reaching out and the conversation about things. Yes, I have launched the business and product is on order. I am anticipating having a shipment of Sierman tubas and euphoniums in stock and on display at the US Army Band Tuba Euphonium Workshop. The way I have the system ...
