Alteri gig bag 4/4

Not sure what these go for used, but its in good shape, doesn’t smell, is clean. Basically all you need for a gig bag. Has one small tear near the top drawstring but I don’t see it becoming an issue. Has the lid as well. Red interior lining. I will upload photos to the google drive link below in abo ...

Buffing tips?

More specifically silver sousaphone bells… I tend to think my results are pretty decent, but I don’t get the “mirror” finish people tend to strive for. I have a feeling that it is just the wheel I’m using(it being desperately undersized and super old). The cramped buffing room doesn’t help either…. T ...

Re: Eb tubas

I really really appreciate the advice from everyone. Im going into my second year in college. It’s not very common in Louisiana to play Eb, but I like it lol. I’ve been busy working in two repair shops last week(school shop and a M&A) so and haven’t been able to check on this post or reply but I will ...

Eb tubas

I’ve been considering getting an Eb tuba instead of an F tuba in college(I find I like the sound I get in them more). But with the nature of being in college, I don’t tend to just have money lying around and have to plan ahead. The Questions: What kind of Eb tubas are out there(4 and 5 valve) and wha ...

two basic silver instrument stinkinesses: - case mold and mildew: agressively brush and vacuum the case interior a lot...set the case (open - interior facing the afternoon sun) out in direct sunlight ...set a dish of vinegar inside the closed case at night. - silver sulfide: simply polish away the ...

new to me, 1916 frank holton british style 4v Euphonium

Here's what I know. From the 1915 catalog this is advertised as "The Holton Long Model Mammoth Bore Euphonium." I say its a "british style" horn only because it has the 3+1 orientation, not the front 4 or top 4 like I've seen online. This one is in really good shape, other than being very dirty ...

WTB: Used conn 14k valves? mabey?

I had an old pan american sousaphone (already without the original valves) that I sold to a friend. long story short, the valves that are in it leak like crazy. He knew about it before he bough it but I'm trying to help him out. Would anyone have a set, or even just one valve from an old 14k they ...
