Bump. Make an offer on the King body and York bell; you won't hurt my feelings with a lower offer.
Could also sell the King kidney-bean-shaped case for the body separately if anyone needs it.

I'd be worried the Bluton Boiz would start to chafe against one another mid-concert if I wiggled my fingers wrong.

Re: cutting Fat Bastard down to size
I love very slightly sharp tubas - just minutely bright. They ring through and have a slight focus. No offense, but this may be the first time I've ever seen this opinion voiced and I'm not quite sure what you mean. "Ring through" = noticeable because they are slightly out of tune with the ensemble ...

moderately sized three valve Eb’s You may know this (but sometimes we find out things that we don't know because of gaps in our experience in this-that-or-the-other), but I know you are UK-based so I wanted to chime in that virtually no public schools in the USA use E-flat tubas. Maybe 60-70 years a ...

Re: 3 valve Eb
Looking for an cheap old 3 valve Eb to learn on before deciding to invest in a second tuba that I can play in brass quintet or community orchestra. Please post links or pm me anything that fits the bill. I'm looking to spend under $500 just to learn fingerings, so old and out of tune will be good ...

Nice stuff as always, Wade.
Wasn't aware you couldn't solder on chrome.
Why were old G bugles chrome plated, anyway? Economical? Doesn't tarnish like silver?

re B tuba: I'm playing an Eb helicon that was poorly cut to F and ended up in E at Tuba Christmas this year. E fingerings have been fun to figure out. Courageous, idk, but fun.

Re: Question about slide lubrication
To answer your question: If you are really worried about synthetics and traditional stuff mixing in your King, you could just wash all your slides, slide tubes and pistons/casings in Dawn to degrease, rinse, and re-apply lanolin and conventional oil once they're dry. Another suggestion: I like Ultra ...

Re: Miraphone F tuba update
Should I consider this an intonation win for an older German rotary F tuba? A win for an old 181-ish Miraphone, for sure. The sky-high third partial is pretty much the only major quirk in my recollection, and as you've negotiated that with alternate fingerings sounds like you'll (continue to) have ...

Re: Miraphone 187
I also don't think this is a 187. 187s have a right-angle exit tube after the valve section and before the tuning slide, kinda like a 188. This one has the curvy tube as seen in the 186 BBb.
