Re: Miraphone bags

My old bag, with the great mouthpiece pocket on the inside of the lid, was made of a little bit thicker cordura than the one I have now.
Calling cardboard, being made from wood fibres, wood is not lying in advertising.

Re: Miraphone bags

Yes, I also found it surprising that it is the same bag as for the 91.
Maybe the Hagen has a less compact wrap.

Didn't have high hopes for stick-on velcro on the cordura, but thank you for testing it.

Re: Balancing Breathing Technique and Embouchure Development

Classic is the cheapest version.
I've the next one, plus IMT and it is sort of a lot of money for a plastic gizmo but being able of cutting down on meds will make for up.

Re: Miraphone bags

How I use top loader bag. ---- I do what you do pretty much but have to tip the tuba over on its side, grab the edge of the bell, and pull it upright onto the bow to fasten the top strings with current Altieri and NStar. If this Mphone bag fits the Hagen, it will be the same general technique but ...

Re: Balancing Breathing Technique and Embouchure Development

You can train your muscles that or used for breathing in. It also helps to lower your blood pressure and that is why I bought one, so maybe a win-win. I have the medium and the first time I put the resistance somewhat halfway, being a tuba player :tuba: :red: :red: I had to dial it back to the ...

Re: Miraphone bags

How I use top loader bag. Put tuba on bell. Grab handle with right hand, lid with the left hand. Wiggle it over the tuba. Lift the tuba with the right with the elbow pointing toward the end of the bag so you get some rotation, the left hand grabs the bell to help the rotation. But bag bottom bow on ...

Re: stands

peterbas regularly bathes in my trolls. He seems to come and go, and seems to return when - once again - he seems to feel that he's in need of yet another good cleansing. Anyone "afraid" of me is - likely - afraid of their own shadow. Colby certainly isn't, and - I'd wager - will become better-and ...

Re: stands

Yeah I prefer $20 bucks over $200 bucks and another $400 or $600 bucks for a tablet. One of my freeway philharmonics is trying to coerce everyone into using tablets. Not only would I have to load that sH!t (the illegally copied music) onto my own tablet without being reimbursed for the time ...

Strange, I thought I was talking about the band where I'm playing in for 30 years and in which we solved most problems by buying a better quality stand. But Ive must be mistaken, silly me. :facepalm2:

I don't give a damn what children can tear up. :eyes: I put stuff back together many days out of every year that children (children ages 10 - 23) tear up. OF COURSE, children can-and-will tear up everything...They are very similar to pet dogs, in that regard. I don't tear up any of my stuff, and I ...

Re: volume of sound in relation to size of tuba

I have yet to encounter a tuba player who regularly produces pitches in the 1000Hz range. Trumpets, yes. The harmonic series guarantees those pitches are there, but the roll off is probably something like 12-16 dB per octave at that point (or more) so they simply aren’t perceived in the ear very w ...
