Eastman 534 vs 632 size comparison

Hi all, I’m looking to get a bag for my Eastman 632. I’ve found a new already made bag that’s labeled as being for a 534. My understanding is that both of these horns have 19.75 inch bells and are 34 inches tall and I’m making an assumption that the 632 a should fit in the 534 bag pretty much perfect ...

bloke , I’ve tried a few times over the past several months to get a picture out of the living room window with the Symphony piece in the foreground, showing the embossed bugling elk; and with a real bugling elk (this one is called “24” based on the ear tag put on him by my colleagues in wildlife he ...

Re: Junk/cheap French horn

I was watching horns on shopgoodwill.com for my stepson on and off recently. He wanted a double so I haven’t bid on any singles but there are a lot of decent enough looking singles in the $20-50 range.

Re: Best way to clean tarnished silver mouthpieces?

Get a glass jar and put a piece of tinfoil in it. Place the mouthpiece in the jar, touching the tinfoil. Pour a tablespoon of baking soda and a dash of salt over the mouthpiece. Pour hot water (close to boiling) over the top. There’ll be an electrochemical reaction that pulls the sulfide out of the s ...

Re: A physiochemical question

Never has happened to me before but I rarely use PB indoors (or if I do I’m in a pretty massive shop space with big fans). I suspect you have a certain level of sensitivity to some chemical ending in -xylene that’s causing your issue, possibly built up over many years, and that increasing the ven ...

Re: Breath Training / Lung Training / Training...Training...

I picked up an PowerBreathe (the red manual one, not the fancy computerized ones) about 6 months ago after reading about the benefits of high-resistance inspiratory muscle strength training for reducing blood pressure (see: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8652071/ among many others). It ...

Hopefully the bison in the yard will enjoy the serenade from the porch. You can keep Yogi and Boo-boo. Last time they showed up at the house they surprised me and I nearly pooped myself.

Re: Can we all get on board with this, please?

I believe the US legislature should pass a law that - with any Conn tubas - the letter "J" be removed from the model number (as it is understood), as the extra effort to involved in saying/typing/uploading the "J" adds carbon to the atmosphere and contributes to all of this devastating climate ...

Re: B&S Symphonie on Facebook Marketplace

I purchased a mouthpiece from Melody back in January. Slightly slow to ship but in great condition (better than advertised), packed very well, and included a surprise mouthpiece case/pouch. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with her again.

Has the number 80 (or 08?) written on it, and looks more like blue painters tape to me. If I had to venture a guess, a lot number from an estate sale or auction.
