If your current sousaphone isn't centering pitches as well as you would like, it sounds to me like there may be an issue that needs repaired. I also picked up a 2145 a while back. I modified a Willson thumb ring setup to fit my 2145. I LOVE it! I'll try to figure out how to post a picture of it later.
