Re: What are your favorite pieces for wind band?
Some of my more enjoyable pieces have been; Rise of the Firebird, American Flourish, and Abracadabra. Of course Holst’s suites in F and Eb are always amongst the top favorites…..

Re: Jim Self
At a British Brass Band rehearsal this past weekend in SoCal, some of us were discussing the passing of Mr. Self. The band's percussionist mentioned that he had met Mr.Self some years ago at an aviation get together as both are/were pilots. They talked about planes, piloting, things non-musical ...

Re: How widespread is iPad use?
Had an outdoor concert today in 90+ degree heat, direct sun exposure. Trumpet player next to me was using a tablet. 2 minutes before the concert start, his tablet overheated and shut down. Fortunately, there was an extra folder with most of his parts available. Funny thing, we had a discussion about ...

Re: Seeking 3/4, or Eflat, or midget tuba in Southern California
What type of Eb tuba is of interest? 3 valve, 4 valved/compensator, 5 valved? Piston or rotors? Would a Chinese made tuba, Wessex as an example, be acceptable?

I have used a 'drummers throne' for a number of years. No back rest might be an issue for some. I haven't missed it.....yet.

I play Eb tuba in a British Brass Band and am one of 2 tubas in a community concert band. i play euphonium in a Pops Orchestra, covering....4th horn or BASSOON parts, whichever is most needed. I frequently have to rearrange the bassoon score in order for me to have a fighting chance. And no, the ...

I will also mention that I saw Mr. Roper playing with the Luckman Jazz orchestra at the Walt Disney Music Hall in downtown Los Angeles playing on his travel tuba covering 3rd trombone parts. I believe that performance was either in 2015 or early 2016.

Had the pleasure to play with Southern California euphonium/tuba player Stephen Klein in my British Brass Band group. He was covering 2nd baritone for an absent member for a concert in 2 weeks. Sight reading and he sounded fantastic. Well, I was excited about the experience..........

I have used the 'upcart' for about 5 years. Worked extremely well with my 'heavy' Willson 3400 and works just fine with the Besson 983, especially with
a flight of stairs that I do twice a week for rehearsals.

Re: Upper dentures specific problem.
One suggestion/possibility would be that IF your maxilla has the proper amount and quality of bone (your DDS would advise you on that), MINI IMPLANTS could be utilized to support/add retention to your upper denture. With those supports, the palatial section of the upper denture could be removed ...

Mr. Sheridan has also signed a developmental deal with Laskey Mouthpieces who should have his ‘improved’ S3 mouthpieces available sometime before ...

I’m actually glad you are keeping the ‘old’ NS. There was an ‘undertone’ within the dialogue that possibly indicated a preference for the new NS at Dillon. In any regards, I’m sorry I didn’t jump at the initial chance to buy yours……..it would still be in my stable.

What exactly are the issues with the newly re-acquired NS that are prompting your reselling it? Did the last owner totally neglect it’s upkeep and/or somewhat trash it to a degree?
