Re: New blood, Part 1 (Besson 983)

Thanks, and just to be clear, we are all just fine, medically and otherwise. It's just a matter of prioritizing what you spend your hard earned money on. I need one tuba.i don't need two. I've got some "stuff" in life, but everyone has "stuff." Other people have real problems. M...

Being green , I eschew beer (as – according to some – humans have already overpopulated the planet), due to whiskey being much more efficient, taking up less physical space, and - most importantly - containing no carbon. Which is greener Bourbon or Scotch? bus'-haid !!! https://www.bourbo...

Re: "Two-ba"

I think Oren M has something he made or had converted thats kind of like that but looks more like a giant saxophone and he plays it sitting. I don't think his can turn back into a traditional tuba though.

Re: FS: King HN White 4 valve EEb sousaphone

I just want to publicly thank Joe, I owned one of these from 2000-2007. I played it in outdoor community bands, salvation army outdoor playing, Once played at the shrine circus in Indy. I had always regretted selling that one. This one popped up and I was interested but I could have never make this ...

John Packer student euphonium sold.

I have a barely used John Packer student euphonium. Model 074 3 valve non compensated with case which has been repaired. We bought this for my daughter who ended up not liking band. She played this for one year and never touched it again. I can email pictures. Asking $300. Located near Minneapolis.

Re: Minneapolis Tuba Christmas

Lake superior is something for sure, Stays so cold even in the hottest summers its pretty unbearable. I think the water temp only varies something like 5 degrees through the year. I love lake Michigan. Still cold but you can swim. The western side of Michigan is very nice. Charlevoix/Traverse city i...

Re: Minneapolis Tuba Christmas

Ive played some really great ones in Indianapolis, I really just enjoyed playing somewhere once a year so I didn't mind this one. Would be wonderful to meet you one day. We have chatted a couple times in the past since I have moved to Minnesota. You were considering buying one of my old horns at one...

Minneapolis Tuba Christmas

Just wondering if anyone knows if there will be a Tuba Christmas in Minneapolis this year. Been a couple years for me at least but I don't see it listed this year.

Re: What is the Best EEb?

I originally bought my Willson 3400 as a bass tuba. Life happened. Sept 11th job loss/change, Marriage, Kids. Decided to go to one tuba and sold my CC. I only really regret ever selling a vintage King Eb sousaphone I had years ago. Hopefully the timing will be right and I can own another one someday...

Re: Shallow (F tuba) style Mouthpieces

I used the Baer F mouthpiece for many years with my willson Eb playing mostly Brass Band music. Both 1st and 2nd Eb part at times. I was very happy with it. I now use the Sellmansberger Imperial and I like it much better. I really like it now that the 32.9 mm rims became available. I have both the s...

Re: FS: Silver 3v Eb Buescher Helicon

Those are very cool. I think Tom H plays a modified version of one of these. I have a 1920s Holton which sounds really nice but has a few out of tune notes in the lower scale. I wonder if it has a solid scale compared to other vintage brands.

Re: Tuba Tuesday: King Symphony 1280 BBb

This could have been my friends old horn. I know he had one of those and traded it to them for a St Pete BBb. I would have bought him a St Pete for that horn. He had all the original cases, The stand and the case for the stand.
