Re: 1939 York BBb Monster Recording Bass

I had a good sit-down with this and she's a player! She had a leaky main tuning spit valve leak that I hadn't noticed and promptly fixed, and oh boy I just might keep it. Limitless sound, and will definitely not crack if you have the gas to give it. This was the horn of a regionally notable ...

Re: Facebook scammer

Always check the profile. If there are no posts and just created, avoid. If they do have posts, check the details, the account could have been hacked. Check their other items for sale...if too many too good to be true posts across industry....avoid.

Valve stem loose

My old buescher 690 has a loose valve stem. The screw port seems to have lost metal or something, now there is a lot play. The stem and button almost popped out today during a parade. I have been screwing it in with a piece of tape attached avoiding going to a repair shop, since there are few around ...

Re: What am I missing here?

Many of times the shill will enter an exaggerated price to win the auction, and it goes down as having been sold at that price, and then they will relist it for an imaginary non-paying bidder at near or close to the price. Bid activity (%) with this seller: 15% The buyer has previous activity with ...

Re: fundamental problem(s) while playing?

Based on your description, I would say your best option would be to find a local professional instructor and have an in person lesson. Those issues need to be addressed by someone who can see what your doing and show you how to correct them. Just one or two lessons should be enough to set you on th ...

Re: My new Buescher

Out of all the jumbos the buescher is my favorite. Largely because it is more ergonomic than the other jumbos, i.e. smaller and a lot of fun to play.
Cool horn!

Re: "Mid-Century Modern", or something else?

I know that some york trumpets had a sleek looking narrow profile in the 20's and 30's, conn followed suit. This was charactersitc of art deco aesthetic design popular in the 20's and 30's. Proof of instruments reflecting the time period. Polished chrome was very popular in mid century modern ...
