Re: Schlipf mute fit for MW Model 20

@BuddyRogersMusic took over American distribution of Schlipf mutes a few years ago. Chris usually responds quickly to email/phone and should be able to answer your question.

I don't have any specific solos, but you can look into Don Butterfield, Bill Barber, and Howard Johnson.

I guarantee you it ain't me. - You will never find me there. - I don't put stuff on my cars that reveal anything personal. - All the other "tubajoe"s play enough better than me to brag about personal stuff on the backs of their cars. - If I had the WA vanity plate fee of $209.25, I'd use it to pay ...

Re: Tell me about... Buying it back

Same model or same exact instrument?

I did the former. Mostly serendipity since I wanted to downsize from my BMB (which was also a serendipitous find since I just happened to be looking for a CC when someone a couple hours away was selling it) and Dillon had one used they were selling.

Re: Mouthpiece Pouchs

If they were still around, I'd suggest a Cavallaro quad mouthpiece pouch. I don't know of anyone that makes a quad anymore and at least my preference would be not having both trombone mouthpieces in the same slot of a pouch.

In your shoes, I'd likely just get two double pouches.

Re: Tubas that never caught on - a thread!

Various manufacturers sold a bunch of them, but those three quarter convertible things were suck tubas...at least, for marching... I learned to play on a Yamaha 3/4 convertible. I wound up playing it as if it were a lefty contra after one year because of how much of a (literal) pain it was to play ...

Re: 1812 - How long since you've played the entire piece?

Never played it in an orchestra. I did once in a community band and I believe it was the full overture, but this was well over a decade ago so I don't completely remember. We just had the band instruments, no cannons or church bells. I once offered to transpose everybody’s parts for the Borodin 2nd f ...

Re: Horns I sold, that I wish I had back

I eventually rectified this. I sold my first DS about 15 years ago because I was a broke kollij graduate who needed a new-to-me car more than having two horns.

I can’t configure out how we would remove the mute without help when the muted section ends. Re: Live music performance attendance

I'm spoiled in that I only have to drive 15 minutes to see two professional orchestras (Madison Symphony and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestras), and the prices are pretty reasonable, so I go to most of the MSO concerts.
