Thank you, Wade. Exquisite clarity and readability. To quote my high school band director "Good gosh, Lord Halifax!"

Re: Helene - everyone okay?
Cobb County was drenched as well as the northwestern quarter of the state (which fared better than middle and southern portions). At least fifteen were killed in Georgia including a firefighter from the Blackshear area (Pierce County). Helene was disastrous.

As a septuagenarian, I see so many applications of this partial quote to real life. This is worthy of stealing and claiming it for my own use. Thank you, Cameron.Cameron Gates wrote: Sat May 11, 2024 7:54 am "patience for academic musicology bibliography and research crap"

Thank you, Mark. It never fails that something pops up AFTER searching and concluding based on the search, that an item isn't available. Your effort has blessed my buddy Mickey and his bride.

If you are working on Easter Sunday and there's something interesting or unusual about the venue or the music, the particular instrument that you will be using, or one or more of the musicians, why not tell us about it here?

re: studio use:
Rex Conner bought one for the Kentucky tuba studio back in the 70s (or maybe donated his old one when he retired in 1980).
I remember it and Mr. Conner's comment during a lesson was, "it's quite a terrible horn" or an equivalent assessment. He told me that he would assign it to ...

I play with John in our local New Horizons band. Whilst I can't vouch for the horn (as he's a vital cog in the euph section), John takes care of his instruments. FWIW, he's a big lad, makes me look small.

Re: Tuba Repairs In The Atlanta Area
Kevin Bowen owns North Georgia Horn Works in Kennesaw and has worked on my horns over the years. He is meticulous, professional, and personable. Kevin repaired/rebuilt Fred Mills' trumpet after his death, which the family buried with him. Rich Ita (Brass Instrument Workshop) has done the majority ...
