I'm pretty sure that the main purpose of public education - whether it be K through 12 or 13 through 19 - is to train people to remember and follow instructions and do what they're told (and not only to do what they're told, but to believe what they're told) RATHER THAN to be able to problem solve, think for themselves, and to be able to demonstrate to themselves and for themselves what is and what is not.

Some decades back, Computerworld magazine ran a spoof ad for ‘Famous Programmers School’. This was based on the ads you would see back then for Famous Artist School. The fake ad had a quiz that asked six ridiculously easy questions. It then said, “If you answered all six questions without ever once wondering why we asked them, you might have a future as a programmer.”

Fortunately, the flugabone is the instrument of thinkers and dreamers.

It's really nothing more than "arguably, one of the best bass trumpets ever manufactured and sold, yet marketed as a marching instrument, as so few people purchase bass trumpets".
