Like the title says, I'm looking for an inexpensive BBb tuba on behalf of a friend. I've advised them to wait a little longer to save up more money, but they insist on starting at this price point. I'm not expecting anything fantastic. If it has 3 valves and plays, I'm sure they'll be happy. I'm located in Cleveland and my friend is in Columbus Ohio. Let me know what you have! You can shoot me a PM or email me at tylerferris1213@gmail.com. Thanks for looking!

Re: WTB $500 BBb Tuba

I have a Weril complete 3/4 bugle/bell (knock-off of Yamaha 105) that is missing a piston.

Seemingly, there's no hope of buying a replacement piston from Brazil...

...BUT, I have a German/high-grade Bauerfeind top-action 3-valve valveset (with slides, of course) that a good repair-person could make to fit on that bell/bugle.

I might even (cannot remember) have an old case for that stuff.

note: The Bauerfeind valveset was originally designed for a King 1140 knock-off (rather than a Yamaha 105 knock-off) so a little bit of adapting will be required.

I'd sell that collection (needing the valveset mounted) for $500 + cheapest freight I could manage.

I am NOT offering to part this out, just fwiw...

...and - otherwise, my plans are to eventually do that work here, and sell it locally (to some middle school, or middle school parent, etc) for twice that amount.

IF any interest (and I don't expect any), I could supply pictures. Any sale would be as-is, with no approval/return.

Bloke, I appreciate the offer, but I'd have to bill them for my time assembling the horn and that would definitely go over their $500 budget.

Baltimore Brass has a King 2340 listed @ $595. Possibly his best bet.
They also have several "Vintage" Eb Tubas priced below that.
Good luck shopping!

I have a somewhat beat up but completely playable Conn 10J for sale. I’ll take $450 without the case shown in the photos plus shipping.
