The second one looks like one of the Couesnon tubas I see in the schools around here.

Just south of DC off 495. And I think that Holton is a YBB-201.

again: what appears to be a perfectly good piece of equipment with a case.
Even with a 3/4 Chinese, it's going to cost them $3000 to replace it with something LESS,
yet they'll probably sell this off for $400 (rather than getting it serviced for $400, since the pictures aren't zoomed, and I'm going assume there's more damage than I can see).

so - once they get $300 - $500 for this - and buy a new small/grunty/Chinese one for $2800 the net unnecessary COST to the Prince George County taxpayers is... $_____.___

Oh yeah...The other one.
How many band directors are desperately looking for take-home practice tubas for middle school students...?? YET they are throwing this one in the trash.

@prodigal , what would you think about getting these and fixing them up for the band, if the price is right?

In our school district, we currently have far too many tubas, and very few tuba players. My school has no students, just me when I can help.

I'm watching the auction, mainly for the 0-99.

bloke, don't even begin to contemplate the budgets of MD schools! I gave up on that a couple of decades ago! :gaah:
