That one in the photo is actually an older Hirsbrunner ring. Something a little smaller in diameter but as thick would be nice for my King project.

This is NOT what you're seeking, but (just in case it interests you or others...) I'm about to order one of these assemblies from Yamaha - to see if it might work out on my Holton project.

The ring is sort of a beefy version of a Miraphone thumb ring, and the bracket strongly resembles those Miraphone lever carriage mounts (with a sturdy cast "C"-shape that is soldered to slide tubing). I became aware of this thing when a school handed me a Yamaha contra to clean and repair.

...I plan to solder the bracket to the lower narrow loop of a KING #1 slide circuit (which is the only reason I thought you might be interested in seeing it...I'm probably placing my misc. Yamaha parts order on Monday.)

Lee Stofer might have one from Rudolf Meinl. He had two with different size flanges to fit the 3/4 and 4/4 CC tubas.

Dan Oberloh makes these. He takes a length of annealed brass tubing of appropriate dimension and wraps it around an appropriate sized mandrel. He might fill it with cerrobend. Or not. It looks like a coil and then he slices them off with a saw, matches the ends and brazes them into a circle. They can be finished in a variety of ways to fasten them to a horn. Or left plain for techs who wish to customize them for a specific application. Give him a call and he probably can work something out for you.

I have one of these "Big O" thumb rings on my horn. It improves my tone. I can hit higher highs and lower lows. My articulation is better and the entire horn "slots" better. It's really neat.
