Sousaphone is usually about 90% of what I play in my job :tuba:

I think that is why I always gravitate back to a Conn2XJ. I find that practicing the Conn 25J makes for an easy transition to sousaphone and actually helps me play it a little better.

One thing that I have learned after learning how to play a 3+1 Compensating EEb tuba several years ago, that I can adequately cover probably 99% of playing situations in which a contrabass tuba is normally deemed appropriate. Very rarely, doesn't matter the ensemble, have I been asked for more sound. It's also requires much less work as well. Anybody else have this experience?
