Darn. I missed it. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get my act together soon enough, so that's on me...

I'll be ready next time, though.

I have had a couple customers tell me that they didn't think they could make a decision before the sale ends. I don't like to pressure people, and the dates of my sale are really quite arbitrary. (Hey, I am the boss around here!) So... I am more than happy to keep the sale going. Let's pick Wednesday, March 4, at midnight to end it. That is as good a time as any!

And I put some nice photos here if you just want some eye candy.

That's a weird spot for the auxiliary handle on the green bag. Was that a special request?
The location on the other 2 seems to make more sense.

Oh, and they're all real purdy. :smilie8:

I bet those clearance bags you were going to put on your website sold before you even had a chance to list them on your site… People likely called, asked what they were, and you got them sold...

Yeah, isn't it? The first grab handles that I added were in that configuration. Because a couple of other bag-makers put it there and I thought it must just work out.

I had a couple of customers also tell me that they liked it there. So, I left it there. But using one of my bags for my personal horn... it drove me crazy. So, now it is in the middle facing up. Makes sense to me.

Dang it. Not only did I miss the first go 'round, I even missed the extension. :facepalm2:

My big York is ready for a bag, as is my little 15" bell York Eb.

So glad to hear that, John! I had my fingers crossed because I cut it pretty close and THEN remembered that it needed the extra section of foam for the keel!

wow...

Back when I was a little kid - when asked what my favorite color was - I blurted out "GREEN!"

Soon after, I changed it to "blue!", because most other kids said that...and the natural wish to conform.

Seeing that bag (and thinking back to some choices that I've made about this/that/the-other) I realize that "GREEN!" has always been the correct answer.

I also like that "UPS" bag very much.

Lately - when I've needed a bag - I've been able to look through my secret hoard/not-for-sale stash of vintage California-manufactured bags, and find one that is very close to a perfect fit.

Seeing these bags, I almost wish that I had no such secret stash. :smilie8: :bow2:

When things reopen and I need to haul this 2165 around, I think I know where that money will be going...

@greenbean, I don’t know what your time constraints are, but the cases you make, the process, etc. would make for a nice Instagram account.

Right? It's such a good color, and it looks great with the leather, too. I also really like the wear pad on the bottom of the case, which I don't remember seeing in the pictures online.

I'll have to post a photo of mine again sometime. Mine is maroon with brown leather, and it looks very classy (especially with a gleaming silver tuba inside).

But if I share a photo, then Tom will get people asking him for a top-loader again. Including me... Asking for a top-loader in leather, which was my grail gig bag in the first place. :eyes:

Joking aside, it's a wonderful bag, and I fully understand why Tom stopped making the top loaders. I'd much rather have Tom run a successful business than trying to appease the top-loader crowd... Because let's not forget, he makes bags for everything, not just tubas!

That dark green and deep maroon colors look great on cars too. Provided they have a tobacco leather interior.

I have a midnight blue California-made case, which was somewhat of a "generous gift"...tossed in with a trade...so - in return - I had a VERY small California-made bag that "JUST" fit the tuba I sold to them (though it also fit MINE), but I felt like surrendering it to them, since they were being so very nice to me...

...all of that having been said, the green does way more for me, aesthetically-speaking...and he11...the entire outside of my house is only TWO colors:
stained wood, and something (depending on how faded part of it is) between evergreen, hunter green, and forest green.

Oh, that would be cool!

There are a whole bunch of new possibilities now that I have a fairly large number of BOTH fabric and leather colors!
