That’s an interesting horn and semi close to me. It looks like the tuning slide is the smallest crook on the back side of the horn.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

I’m wondering if that was a demo or something? It looks like it was put together and then never buffed for lacquer.

Definitely a fair price.

About the time Kanstul closed their factory, a whole bunch of stuff that looked like prototypes of Kanstul stuff came up in Bay. It was all finished to the state of the horn in the ad.

Would be pretty good value if someone wanted a 3v horn.

Eh? It's pretty, and probably sounds great, but got more than enough tuba here. Just got out of what I think was my first gig on the tuba I got more than a year ago. Judging from the way tubas aren't flying off the used tuba shelves around here, I think anyone who's interested in this thing - and it is an interesting tuba - can ponder it at their leisure.

Looks a lot better than its catalogue picture. The valve section appears to be soldered in - unlike my Eb, where it's detachable, though it looks like the leadpipe possibly can be detached.

I picked up their 3/4 sized 3 valve marching contra when they closed. Mine is completely raw brass and is the 202-C model which is supposed to be convertible to a concert horn like the one in the add. They had no parts left to finish the job so it was soldered together as a marching only horn. It still has some of the screwed together braces to make it convertible but I don't have all of the parts. The price was great and the horn plays really well. Then Covid hit and all of my marching gigs went away. Maybe next summer I will get to use it.
