B&M BBb

Re-upping this just because it intrigues me. Nice dimensions and price, but that homebrew fourth valve makes me stumble everytime.

While not easy to correct, the machine is designed to have a 4th valve, so installing one that fits within the machine like a factory 4th and then building out a 4th slide circuit would be very doable. I am more put off by the wonky main slide assembly that looks to have been bodged on rather poorly. Again, it can be removed and reinstalled correctly, but some money would have to be spent on parts for all this. It looks like these were mods done using what was at hand and not by spending any money on new parts. I can appreciate that if the work is clever and well-executed. I do not like the MTS or 4th on this tuba for that reason. But I say again, all this can be rectified if you have the time and can get money in small lumps to fix things over time as several separate projects.

The price is fair for what you get, but don't count on that free shipping from Europe to the US! I would estimate another $400 for shipping to the total price just to be safe.

These are good tubas.
