Those are pretty terrible tubas, but I'd pay that money for it just for the valves

Perhaps there has been some bidding activity since the last posting, but that price (certainly, with shipping) has well exceeded my personal "parts horn" budget...and - particularly - my "parts horn just in case I might need those parts SOMETIME" budget.

I doubt many people have played one. When I was did I was shocked at the thin tone and stuffy low range

That being said, the valves would be a great assortment of parts for Frankentuba projects.

I’ve never played a Miraphone 183 – which is similar – that impressed me.

I own two of these badged under different names but both Cerveny. I am cannibalising them to make one 5 valve instrument. Both of mine have really solid low ranges that speak easily and can produce a lot of volume. All over the range of both horns is quite nice. They definitely need the help of the 5th valve though. Intonation in the bottom end need a lot of slide gymnastics. I have always wanted a 5 valve rotary Eb. I primarily use CC for everything so this will mainly be a horn "just for fun". Once all is said and done, this will be a very inexpensive project. Even if I need to add some sort of main tuning slide kicker, I should have a pretty nice Eb for the fraction of the cost of a new one. It should be fun to see how it turns out.
