Alexander 163 CC Tuba
If you like a classic, big, round, depth filled (5/4 IMO) German rotor sound...this is it. This tuba is the newer build, and is VERY in tune.
This tuba has had the first valve vented, and I’ve added a Saturn Water key to it, which in my opinion smooths out a rotor instrument exponentially.
Purchased brand new in the fall of 2021, it is in MINT condition, with only the tiniest ding present. I’ve only used this tuba for 6 weeks in the orchestra this year (ballet pit, pops, and a few smaller chamber ensembles). I’m only selling as a project I’ve been waiting on is almost finished. This is an absolutely stellar instrument.
Comes with a brand new Superfine custom made Gig Bag.
* Five rotary valves by Meinlschmidt, bronze bushings and Minibal linkages
* .808 bore/20.5 mm
* Fifth rotor tuned to flat whole step, right hand
* yellow brass body with nickel trim and gold brass leadpipe
* gold brass bell with engraved nickel kranz
* fixed thumb ring
* Clear lacquer finish
