Post by bisontuba »

This Tuba Tuesday the Museum features a Heckel, BB flat tuba, 3 rotary, c.1925. .820 bore, 47.5” tall, 17.75” bell. “Heckel / Custom Made” on bell.

According to Horn-U-Copia: “Friedrich Alwin Heckel established his business in Dresdin in 1866 and was still flourishing in 1950.

Johan Adam Heckel established his business in 1831 and was still flourishing in 1950. Arno Windisch was Heckel’s last apprentice. Heckel retired in 1954 and Windisch took over.”
