Hi all
I’m looking for a silver King tuba body. Any of the 1240, 1241, 2340, 2341 tubas. Condition unimportant, with or without valves, with or without a bell, etc. You get the picture. Heck even Olds/Reynolds silver parts would work.
If you have something that fits the bill, please let me know.
Thank you.

Maybe…
No, it’s for some repair work. I’ve got some of the parts (in silver) but not enough to complete a silver tuba.

Re: WTB: silver King tuba carcass
As you know, there are two BRASS bodies on eBay, right now.
Might you consider sending any silver parts that you have to Anderson to be stripped?
Particularly if your parts are somewhat small, the shipping might be affordable.
Particularly if small parts, the cost is exponentially lower than plating...and they actually recover the silver, and either sell or use it.
(Of course, shipping a bell to be stripped would cost over $200 in r/t shipping.)

Gotcha and thanks for the thought but
I’m trying to get to a silver instrument. I have 2 brass bodies here.
If I send Andersons a couple of old silver quarters would that lower my plating bill?

Re: WTB: silver King tuba valve cluster parts
Bump
I’m looking for the leadpipe, valve casings, valve tubing, MTS, dogleg and smallest top bow from a King or a silver valve cluster (w or w/o pistons) from an Olds/Reynolds.
I have all of it in brass and can send it out to be plated, but if I can find ‘vintage’ silver, it would match the rest of the horn much better.
Thanks for looking and/or keeping an eye open…
