If you get one, get two - the other one for me! Not a "do everything" F tuba like some of the bigger horns, but a fantastic solo horn and for the lighter repertoire. This was one of those tubas that sounded much bigger in the hall than it did up close. If one was to have a "niche" horn for soloing, that would be the tuba. This guy thought so too:

The one I borrowed in Germany last summer was a really good tuba! The quint valve made everything easy.

This model of Cerveny F tuba (the topic)...
VERY nice lookin', feel good to play, curious intonation. quint valve is as good as anything for low range...just different buttons to mash (easy to figure out, and easy to form new chromatic fingering habits)...

Finally had a gig today up in the Falls for a wedding and used the Cerveny F.....love the horn!!! Really terrific sound and easy to play. I pay homage to it :bow2:
