Looking for a Yamaha YBB-321 BBb tuba, 1st generation with the long third valve tuning slide and logo that is a decal, not engraved.
The Holton "BB460 Collegiate" stencil of this horn would also be fine.

Re: WTB: Yamaha YBB-321 BBb tuba, 1st generation
I don't have one, but what would you think about the UK-made original (whereas the 321 was the copy)...the pre-Sovereign 3+1 comp. Besson with the same bell diameter (and - obviously - with good valves)...??
Reaching over for the 4th valve might not be your ideal, but you would get full chromaticism in exchange.

Thanks Joe, but I'm set on a YBB-321. I have owned and sold off 2 pre-Sovereign 3+1 Bb basses in the last couple of years. I didn't mind the side action 4th, but i guess I've scratched my Besson itch for a while.

I know a local high school who had YBB-321 SN 12 (or thereabouts) a couple years ago. I don't think they're allowed so sell it, though. It has to go through some state collection and auction scheme.

There’s an older one up on eBay. Pretty beat up, but it’s cheap.WakinAZ wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 12:04 pm Looking for a Yamaha YBB-321 BBb tuba, 1st generation with the long third valve tuning slide and logo that is a decal, not engraved.

Thanks Hal - I saw that one. I actually have a pretty nice one on the way, but I'm not going to mark this ad as "found" until it's in my hands and deemed satisfactory. Heh-heh.
