Closest DHL hub to Dillons looks to be in Elizabeth, NJ, about 22 minutes away.

Not to sound discouraging... but based on what I paid to send a tuba from Minnesota to Texas, $900 doesn't sound all that bad, and it would probably be pretty quick.

Although it sounds ridiculous, sending via container ship LCL (less-than-container-load) is probably going to be far less than $900... but will take quite a while longer to arrive. Plus, it'll arrive at a German port city, and I think you're much farther inland.

Good luck!

I was contemplating trying to buy an original case for my vintage King sousaphone but it’s in England. I had the bright idea to try to fly standby there and bring it back with me as luggage and hope it doesn’t get smashed.

Daniel,
Did something change since you shipped my Holton from Minnesota to Germany? The guys were prompt, courteous, careful with the tuba, and seemed to get it to you in good condition.
Best of luck to you, my friend!
Tim
PS. Glad to hear you found the Eb you were looking for!
