Re: WTB: Conn sousa neck/bits

I tend to hold onto pieces of these, so that - in an emergency - I can scrounge parts and solder one together for one of my school customers who needs one (when I've allowed my "new" supply to run out - due to not paying attention).

THAT HAVING BEEN SAID...

Taylor Music (SD - middle of nowhere) overhauls old sousaphones and sells them. Often, they replace funky upper mouthpipes and tuning bits with new.
When they have some that are in "ok" condition, they might stick 'em on eBay. If you need "below ok condition, but holding together", they might have such beasts laying around to sell to you...Ask 'em.

ex: crunched bits which you might be able to straighten out...creased necks which you might be able to support with an old drumstick and pull mostly back into shape (etc.)

What bloke said. We all hang on to these even if damaged in order to have spares, since the primary performance venue for a souzy is outdoors, with all the vagaries that entails. If you can find used, you may find that due to supply-and-demand that the price will approach new.

Yeah, I've gone ahead and asked my local shop to price out an order from Allied.

Just need the bits now. These have been on backorder from Allied since July 2022, so I am still looking.
